We are extremely proud to serve you nudefruit berries that are 100% grown in Canada, most of which are from right here in Ontario and most of our products\u00a0carry the Foodland Ontario sticker.<\/p>\n<p>Our farmers follow strict guidelines with respect to food safety, a safe and fair working environment, along with sustainable and ethical food growing practices. Take Morris Gervais of Barrie Hill Farms, one of our main berry suppliers. Morris is a 2<sup>nd<\/sup> generation farmer who along with his father Adrien, have been growing fruits and vegetables for 35 years. Their farm is LFP certified. Local Food Plus Certification stands for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Environmentally responsible farming<\/li>\n<li>Sustainable production methods<\/li>\n<li>Reduced greenhouse gases<\/li>\n<li>Farmland and wildlife habitat preservation<\/li>\n<li>Fostering a strong local economy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In addition to LFP Certification, many things are being done at the farm to honour environmental commitment including a plastic bag free zone, no GMOs, Integrated Pest Management and Environmental Farm Plan (EFP). EFP is a voluntary self assessment that is done by Ontario farmers and reviewed by a peer group committee. Farmers assess environmental risks posed by their operation and develop an action plan to minimize or eliminate these risks. Barrie Hill Farms completed an Environmental Farm Plan soon after the program began in 1993.<\/p>\n<p>We are proud to be associated with Morris Grevais and the continued efforts he makes to ensure his farm delivers great quality product along with his commitment to the people he employs and the environment.<\/p>\n<p>Taste the difference!
