Whilst we are out on the road doing food demonstrations at grocery stores and food shows we are often asked questions about our name and branding and what makes us different.
We decided on the name Nudefruit as it perfectly describes our products. They are ‘nude’ in the fact that they have nothing added. Many companies will glaze their fruit with water which in turn adds to the weight and this is legal in Canada up to 20% of the weight believe it or not! We do none of this. Our fruit is flash frozen within hours of being picked and so all the great nutrients in fruit are kept in.
People love our bags as the zipper is showing our fruit is ‘nude’ inside. It’s very tongue in cheek.
People also often ask what makes us different? Well there are very few companies out there who can boast that their products are Canadian or even North American for that matter! Most frozen fruit nowadays comes from Mexico, Chile and China, which do not have the stringent food safety laws to adhere to as we have in North America. This is what makes us different! Would you rather feed your child a strawberry from China or British Columbia, Canada? I know what I would prefer!
